“The Point of the Crayon is The Story,” September 17, 2023

On Sunday, September 17th, UUCC continues its exploration of the congregational theme of Beauty. To that end, we welcome recent Shared Pulpit graduate John Farrow, member of the UUs of San Mateo, with a sermon entitled “The Point of the Crayon is The Story.”

Inspired by the children’s story Harold and the Purple Crayon, John believes the best world we can live in, maybe the only one we can live in, is the one we co-create through our stories and art. So our important job, the job we do to create that best world, to live fully, and to face down our fear of death — the important job — is to notice beauty.
