“Plato’s Cave and Other Waking Moments,” October 2, 2022

The Touchstones Themes for September and October are Awakening and Awe. And on October 2nd, we return to Odd Fellows Hall to hear Bill Heavlin address these themes with a sermon entitled “Plato’s Cave and Other Waking Moments.” In this wry and meandering meditation on awakening, Bill recaps Plato’s famous allegory of the cave, and some of its history in Western thought. He also reflects on some of his personal waking moments, with his mother, from a teacher, and at a donut shop.

This live in-person service takes place at Odd Fellows Hall, 526 Main Street, Half Moon Bay, CA, 94019. Odd Fellows Hall has quite new high-circulation air ventilation system. Nonetheless, out of an abundance of caution, we require mask wearing for churchgoers throughout the servicewith the exception of those actively speaking at the front of the room.

The Zoom link for this service is now disabled.
