On February 4, 2024, at 11:00 am, UUCC holds our annual fundraiser for Coastside Hope, in a service entitled “Hope as an Action Verb.”
Come enjoy a wonderful variety of music: jazz improv, classical piano and guitar, contemporary and baroque. Performers include: Shauna Pickett-Gordon, Tom Devine, Diedrik Edholm, Vera Vanderschalk, Carol Siegel, and Brian & Julie Novak-McSweeney. We’ll also hear from Joanne and Dave Rokosky on the evolution of their understanding of hope and its call to action. Coastside Hope executive director, Judith Guerrero, will be on hand to describe how this vital non-profit serves our Coastside community. The service will be further enhanced by many inspirational readings on Hope from our talented pool of UUCC regulars.
We invite you to tell your family, tell your friends, and—better yet—bring someone with you to this special all-music Sunday service. There is no charge for admission. All checks and cash collected during the show go directly to Coastside Hope. This critical non-profit provides a free-food pantry, twice-monthly brown bags of groceries for needy seniors, annual tax preparation assistance, ongoing citizenship classes, and more. If somehow you can’t attend the fundraiser, we encourage you to donate to Coastside Hope.
This live in-person service takes place at Odd Fellows Hall, 526 Main Street, Half Moon Bay, CA, 94019. A Zoom option to view the day-of service from home is also available.
