“Having Faith in Uncertain Times,” July 7, 2024

The Touchstones Theme for July is Faith. Come join us on Sunday, July 7th. On that date, at 11 am, Ronnie Boyd presents a sermon entitled “Having Faith in Uncertain Times,” at Odd Fellows Hall, 526 Main Street in Half Moon Bay. Ronnie speaks of how we can hold faith in humanity while our communities, society, and the world are in turmoil. As Unitarian Universalists, many might not have faith in God, but we can have faith in each other. Join us for a spiritual message of hope.

Ronnie Boyd is the Community, Faith & Justice Organizer at East Bay Housing Organizations in Oakland, a 2nd-year student at Starr King School, and organizes with Bay Area DRUUMM. Her diverse background includes organizing for police and prison abolition and advocating for public education reform. As a natural next step, she now works for affordable housing advocacy, as the grief of housing injustice lay as a backdrop to the organizing Ronnie did in both Chicago and the Bay Area.

And speaking of hope and faith in humanity, on this date UUCC will also do its annual Flower Ceremony. So bring a flower, and you’ll be taking another flower home. Diedrik Edholm and Vera Vanderschalk provide beautiful music, and Tom Devine leads us in hymns.
