“Death Looms Over My Shoulder and the Joys of Bicycling,” July 16, 2023

On Sunday, July 16, we welcome David Marsland, a recent Shared Pulpit Graduate. On that date, David delivers a sermon entitled “Death Looms Over My Shoulder and the Joy of Bicycling.” The service starts at 11am. This service is on Zoom only.

Most of us are uncomfortable talking about or even thinking about death. Yet death awaits all of us in the end. As an avid bicyclist, death often looms over David’s shoulder. And still he rides, filled with joy.

David Marsland participates in the UU Coastside Community along with his wife Verna Barrientos. He’s led previous UUCC services on Climate Action and Loving Kindness. And David loves to bicycle. He has four sons and three granddaughters and wants to do all he can to ensure that they live in a world full of loving kindness.
