“Beginning Again,” August 21, 2022, 11am

On August 21st, UUCC welcomes Sylvia Forsyth, a prominent lay leader from the UU Fellowship of Santa Cruz county and a graduate from last Fall’s multi-congregational Shared Pulpit class. Entitled “Beginning Again,” her sermon draws inspiration from Native American wisdom and spirituality. After all the trauma in our lives these days, how can we begin again in a positive and hopeful way? Join us in thinking about our lives and how a few changes can be positive and help us “carry on”. This is a Zoom-only service.

“Who is Sylvia, what is she, that all the swains adore her?” Her dad was a tenor and he sang this song from Shakespeare! That’s how Sylvia got her name. She grew up in Soquel, just outside of Santa Cruz. And 34 years ago, with the LA life was becoming more hectic and her three sons on their way, there she returned. And ever since, she has been with UU Santa Cruz County, serving on the Board, on many committees, and, for 5 years, as Director of Religious Education.

Sylvia greatly enjoyed the “Pulpit “ class so much and is happy to share her thoughts and experiences with you on Sunday the 21st.

Order of Service. Gathering for service and music begin at 10:45 am. The Service begins at 11am over Zoom.

The Zoom link for this service is now disabled.
